Tire Services

If you want to get anywhere on the road, you’re going to need a reliable set of tires to carry you there. Fortunately for you, our auto repair technicians at McCart’s Auto Center offer new tires and tire rotation services that will keep your car riding smoothly for miles to come.

Tire Care

Here at our shop in Conyers, GA, we use state-of-the-art equipment in combination with superior staff training to give you the best possible experience with tire services, maintenance, and installation. However, we also understand that new tires are one of the most significant expenses a car owner will endure. So whether you’re coming in for a brand-new set or you’re just getting maintenance done on the old ones, we know how to get the most out of your car’s tires.

Rotations

Even if you buy all four of your tires at the same time, they won’t wear down the same. Each car handles and distributes its weight differently, and your tires will wear down unevenly over time. If not rotated every 5,000-8,000 miles, you can expect to see your tires’ lifespan cut in half.

Alignment

Whether you’re riding on fresh asphalt or a rough country road, your car’s suspension will eventually fall out of alignment. By getting an alignment at McCart’s, you can be sure that your tires are making proper contact with the road and won’t wear as unevenly. How often you should get an alignment depends on many factors, including the roughness of the roads you drive on and your number of encounters with speed bumps and curbs. If you’re not sure how often you should be coming in, just ask our technicians and we’ll provide an honest estimate for you.

Tire Pressure

The amount of air in your tire can also affect how it makes contact with the roads and how it wears. An overfilled tire can wear the center unevenly, and an underfilled one can wear the sides unevenly. You should be sure to check your tire pressure at least once per month and keep an eye out for any signs of leakage or uneven pressure.

New Tires

Nothing lasts forever, no matter how hard we try. That’s why we offer premium tires for affordable prices at our shop, so you won’t have to worry about anything but the memories made on the road with them. That said, how do you know if you need new tires?

Tread Check

If you want to be sure that you need new tires, the best way to know is by checking the depth of your tire treads. Tires with heavy wear on the treads are unsafe to drive on as they reduce traction on the roads, which can make it harder to brake and control your vehicle. The easiest way to do this is the penny test. Take a penny and stick it upside-down into the shallowest tread. If you can see the very top of Lincoln’s head, it’s time to get new tires!
