McCart's Auto Center 100k Mile Service

At McCarts Auto Center, customer service and quality care are our top priorities. We employ experienced, certified technicians trained to provide premium total-car care, and we use state-of-the-art equipment and premium parts to ensure the quality of our work.

100k Mile Service

Just like your house eventually needs things like a new roof, a fresh coat of paint, new windows, and maybe some new plumbing, your vehicle also needs occasional service to continue to work well. You expect reliability from your vehicle, and that’s reasonable, but you need to do your part in caring for your car so that it can continue to be reliable for many more years and miles. Not only is it important to stay ahead of general wear and tear on your vehicle, but your vehicle’s manufacturer and any quality auto technician will recommend this service so that your vehicle continues to operate as designed. Here’s a list of everything we check and replace during your 100K mile service.

Why Get Your 100K Mile Service?

We know you’re busy, and scheduling a non-urgent auto service appointment is not at the top of your to-do list. However, neglecting to service your vehicle can drastically diminish its lifespan, but cars can and often do last well beyond the 100k mile mark, so long as they are cared for properly. Scheduling your service is easy, and we always aim to complete service appointments with efficiency and excellence so that we can get you and your car on your way.

Top Priorities of a 100K Mile Service

While everything we check at a 100k mile service appointment is important, there are a few things that are of the utmost importance. If you decide not to get the entire service completed on your vehicle—which we don’t recommend—at the very least, at least get these items checked out to maximize the health of your vehicle.

Spark Plugs

Spark plugs directly impact your fuel economy, meaning that replacing them puts more money back in your pocket. The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence indicates that bad spark plugs can decrease fuel economy by up to 30%. Worn-out spark plugs can also cause engine misfires. This can cause poor performance and can lead to ignition failure.

Transmission Fluid

Most modern automotive fluids have a life expectancy of 100k miles before they start to lose their protective properties. All fluids in your vehicle are important, but transmission fluid is absolutely vital to your vehicle’s ability to function properly. Automatic transmission fluid is required to operate the transmission, but when it breaks down around 100k miles, it can no longer lubricate or cool, causing the fluid to burn and can eventually lead to complete transmission failure.

Antifreeze/Coolant

When your vehicle hits 100k miles, your antifreeze/coolant quickly loses its ability to keep your engine at the proper temperature. It can no longer provide protection from freezing, and it can often lead to rust forming inside the cooling system, which can cause future damage and issues.

All Other Fluids

All the fluids in your vehicle are very important, and it should be a high priority to have them checked, replaced, and/or topped off as needed. Engine oil, especially, needs to be changed regularly and should be checked at your 100k mile service. When left alone for too long, engine oil gets contaminated with carbon from combustion, and it loses its ability to provide proper lubrication. This can cause a number of problems, both short-term and long-term, in your vehicle.

In-Depth Inspection

Our 100k mile service includes an in-depth inspection of multiple components in your vehicle. The goal of this is to catch undetected problems before they get worse and give attention to areas of your car that need it. As trained and experienced auto technicians, we can see and feel things in your vehicle that alert us to its needs, and we aim to get everything in ideal working condition before returning your vehicle to you.

McCart’s Commitment to You

Here at McCart’s Auto Center, we pride ourselves on honesty, quality service, and good relationships. If we recommend that you get a particular service, repair, or part replacement on your vehicle, it’s because your vehicle truly needs it. Oftentimes, the very integrity and reliability of your vehicle can be extended significantly just by performing regular maintenance, and service costs are a small price to pay for lengthening the life of your car.
